Billi Jo Zielinski – A Breast Cancer Warrior

On July 30, 2012 at the age of 40, Billi Jo Zielinski was diagnosed with Invasive Carcinoma with ductal and lobular features (mixed type carcinoma). Then on November 20, 2012 she was upgraded from II to IIIC.

She is a warrior and is grateful to live each day, and thankful for all the love and support that surrounded her during this life-changing event.

The journey that she has been on has paved the way to an amazing opportunity for her to help others, as others had helped her. Currently, as President and CEO of Make-a-Wish North Dakota, she grants children with life-threatening medical conditions a wish that will strengthen wish kids and their families, rally communities together and change the lives of everyone involved.

Billi Jo’s own experiences gave her special insight into what these families go through. She says:

“It’s not just the child who is impacted. It’s the whole family. My cancer didn’t just affect me. It affected my kids, my husband and my mom. My whole family received the diagnosis.”

Read more of Billi Jo’s battle with cancer and the amazing journey thereafter.

We are proud to feature you Billi Jo! Here’s to making a difference…
